Committees
Council meetings are scheduled on the 3rd Wednesday of the months of February, April, June, August, October and December.

Professional Development Committee

Chair:  Tammy Knouse and Sister Alice O'Connell

Function:  To plan conferences and professional development training for Council members and the community at large.

Meetings:  Last Monday of each month at 3:00 p.m., Community Service Center Conference room.




Special Activities Committee

This committee collaborates with member agencies to reach out into the community to increase community awareness of available services. We also enhance collaboration within the group through yearly planned events.

Chair:  Sr. Annette Frey, S.C.

Meeting date and time:  Third Friday of each month at 9:00 a.m.

Meeting Place:  Penn State Extension




Membership Committee

Function: Recruit and maintain membership, maintain and monitor website content.

Meeting date and time:  As needed

Meeting place:  Fayette Health Center, Services to Senior Citizens offices.

Chair:  Jami McCahill




Research and Development Committee

The Research and Development Committee is a working partnership of human service professionals, academics, and the community that focuses and coordinates research efforts to study the causes, consequences and ultimately the solutions to the problem of poverty in Fayette County.
Ongoing activities:
  • Analyzing the results of “A Survey of Social Conditions in Fayette County”
  • Developing the program for the 2004 Human Service Council Fall Conference
  • Developing programs based on findings from the research study of poverty

Chair:  Dr. Debra Evans-Rhodes

Meeting date and time:  Last Friday of each month at 1:00 p.m.

Meeting place:  The Eberly Campus Community Center Conference Room
